Khunti Puja Marks Start of Durga Puja Preparations at Ramnagar Sanhati Club

Agartala: The traditional Khunti Puja was held on Sunday morning at Ramnagar Sanhati Club in Agartala, formally launching this year’s Durga Puja preparations amid festive enthusiasm.

Agartala Municipal Corporation Mayor Deepak Majumder attended the ceremony along with club officials and members, as the puja was completed through religious rituals. The club also outlined its plans and arrangements for this year’s celebrations.

Club sources said this year’s Durga Puja budget is around Rs 35 lakh. As a special attraction, the club has planned to build its pandal on the lines of Gujarat’s Ramnarayan Temple, aiming to showcase architectural beauty and heritage to visitors through a distinctive design.

During the event, Mayor Majumder held discussions with club officials on the preparations and arrangements for the puja. Members said they have already begun work to ensure the celebrations are conducted smoothly.

With the Khunti Puja now complete, the countdown to Ramnagar Sanhati Club’s Durgotsav has officially begun. Organisers expressed confidence that the Rs 35 lakh budget, combined with the Ramnarayan Temple-inspired pandal, will make this year’s puja a major draw for visitors across the city.
