Agartala: The West Women’s Police Station organised a Rakhi Bandhan festival, bringing together senior police officials and members of the community in a gesture of solidarity and goodwill. The event witnessed the participation of Officiating Director General of Police G.S. Rao, IG (Law and Order) Manchak Ippar, and West Tripura Superintendent of Police Namit Pathak, along with several other senior officials of the state police department.
Adding to the spirit of the occasion, Women’s Commission Chairperson Jharna Debbarma was also present, along with women representatives from various NGOs who joined the police station’s initiative. Rakhi threads were tied as a symbol of the bond of trust and protection between the police and the women of the community.
The festival is seen as part of ongoing efforts by the police department to strengthen ties between law enforcement and citizens, particularly reinforcing the message of safety and support for women. Officials at the event emphasised the importance of continued cooperation between the community and police in ensuring women’s security across the state.
