AGARTALA: The Tripura TET Teachers Welfare Association submitted a memorandum addressed to the Chief Minister to the Education Director, raising two key demands concerning the service conditions of TET-qualified teachers in the state.
The association demanded that TET teachers be granted a regular pay scale from the very first day of their appointment, rather than being kept on a lower or probationary pay structure. It argued that teachers performing full teaching duties from the outset deserve pay parity from the start of their service.
The memorandum also called on the state government to withdraw the Special Leave Petition (SLP) it has filed in the Supreme Court, a matter the association said has left affected teachers in prolonged uncertainty over their service status and benefits.
Submitting the memorandum to the Education Director for onward transmission to the Chief Minister, the association urged the government to take swift and sympathetic action on both demands.
The organisation said the pending legal matter and the absence of regular pay scale from the start of service have caused significant hardship to TET teachers across the state, and called for an early resolution to the long-standing issue.
