SIDHAI: An unidentified man’s body was recovered from a pond inside a rubber plantation behind Chechuria Bazar in Mohanpur assembly constituency, under Sidhai police station, causing widespread concern in the area.
According to locals, the body was found floating in the pond water in the morning by residents heading out to work in the fields. Police and other locals were subsequently informed, following which the matter came to light.
Residents said the identity of the deceased remains unknown, adding that no one in the locality has been reported missing. At the time of filing this report, Sidhai police were yet to reach the spot.
The circumstances surrounding the death remain unclear, and the identity of the man as well as the cause of death are expected to be established once police investigation begins.
