AGARTALA: East Police Station has achieved a major breakthrough in a theft case, recovering stolen goods worth nearly Rs 3 lakh and arresting the main accused, police said.
The case dates back to August 12, when items including mobile phones and a laptop were allegedly stolen from the Chittaranjan area residence of Sridev Saha. Following a complaint lodged by the family, East Police Station launched an investigation into the theft.
Acting on leads from the probe, police conducted a raid in the Gandacherra area, where they recovered the stolen mobile phones, laptop and other items. The operation, carried out last night, also led to the arrest of the main accused allegedly involved in the theft.
East Police Station OC Krishnadhan Sarkar, briefing the media on the development, confirmed the recovery of goods worth approximately Rs 3 lakh.
Police said the investigation is continuing to ascertain whether any other individuals are linked to the theft, as authorities work to determine the full extent of the crime ring’s operations.
