AGARTALA: A thank-you and congratulatory rally was held here on Saturday, welcoming the state government’s decision to provide 100 percent subsidy on electricity tariffs in the capital. The programme, organised under the initiative of the No. 8 Town Bardowali Mandal, saw participation from a large number of workers, supporters and members of the public.
BJP Sadar District President Asim Bhattacharya and No. 8 Town Bardowali Mandal President Shyamal Kumar Dev were among the leaders present at the rally. Participants expressed gratitude and extended congratulations to Chief Minister Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha and the state government for what they termed a welfare-oriented decision benefiting Agartala’s residents.
Organisers said the electricity subsidy would provide significant relief to consumers in the capital, and welcomed the move as a step towards easing the financial burden on households.
Similar thank-you rallies were held in various mandals across the state on the same day, with party workers and supporters in each area coming out to welcome the government’s decision on the power tariff subsidy.
