The “Samvidhan Bachao Manch” (Save Constitution Forum) has created history in the 125-year legacy of the Tripura Bar Association by nominating Pritha Deb as its first-ever female presidential candidate.
Addressing a press conference, senior advocate Haribal Debnath announced that a 15-member joint panel has been formed by the All India Lawyers Union and the Congress Legal Cell for the upcoming elections on June 13. Highlighting the inclusivity of their lineup, Debnath noted that the panel ensures strong representation for the SC and ST communities. He expressed immense confidence in a clean sweep, citing an overwhelming response during door-to-door campaigning across court premises.
Emphasizing the core values of the forum, senior leader Prasanta Sen Choudhury stated that the alliance was established eight years ago to defend democratic values at a time when the rule of law is under threat. He added that the forum has intentionally selected highly educated candidates with a proven track record of socio-political welfare.
The forum has promised to uplift the Bar’s reputation and has urged the judicial community to ensure a thumping victory for their panel to safeguard the Constitution.
