Agartala: The state government on Monday launched T-RISE — the Tripura Registry & Integration for Startup Ecosystem Portal — at a workshop titled “Building a Unicorn in Tripura,” held at Pragya Bhawan here, in a major push to strengthen the state’s startup and innovation landscape.
The workshop was organised jointly by the state IT Department and Hyderabad-based startup platform T-Hub, aimed at equipping young entrepreneurs in Tripura with the support needed to build high-growth, globally competitive ventures.
Pranajit Singha Roy, Minister for IT, Finance, and Planning & Coordination, attended the event along with senior government officials, industrialists, investors, startup founders and representatives from academia.
Officials said the newly introduced Sector-Agnostic Tripura Startup Policy is aimed at boosting startups, innovation, employment and investment across sectors, alongside a new state-level incubation centre, T-NEST, established at the International Business Centre in Hapania.
According to government figures, more than 185 applications have been received since the policy’s rollout, of which 140 registrations have been approved and 70 startups recognised. Financial assistance of Rs 2.72 crore has already been disbursed to beneficiaries.
The T-RISE portal is expected to bring startups, entrepreneurs, incubators, mentors, investors and government departments onto a single digital platform, offering access to over 20 mentors and more than 10 investors, alongside corporate partners and sector experts.
Strategic memorandums of understanding have also been signed with HDFC Bank, Amazon Seller Services and Zoho Corporation, extending benefits such as financial services, e-commerce support, export assistance, cloud technology, technical consultancy and training to entrepreneurs.
The workshop also featured sessions by T-Hub experts on innovation management, business scaling, fundraising and market expansion, along with a session by representatives of Skyroot Aerospace, who shared insights from their startup journey.
The government said the initiative aims to build a future-ready, innovation-driven startup ecosystem, generate employment for youth, and position Tripura as a leading startup destination in East India.
