Agartala: West District Superintendent of Police Nomit Pathak addressed a press conference at the AD Nagar Police Conference Hall on Friday, outlining the security arrangements put in place for Independence Day observances across the district.
The briefing detailed the multi-layered security measures deployed to ensure peaceful celebrations, with law enforcement personnel stationed at key locations, including the main Independence Day venue and other sensitive points across the district.
Addressing reporters, the SP elaborated on the coordinated efforts between the district police and central forces to maintain vigilance and prevent any untoward incidents during the celebrations.
Also present at the press conference were Additional SP Dhrubanath, SDPO Pannalal Sen, SDPO Subrata Barman, SDPO Ashish Das, along with officials of the Border Security Force (BSF), reflecting the collaborative approach adopted for the day’s security operations.
Officials said additional police personnel, along with quick response teams, had been deployed across sensitive areas, with checkpoints and patrolling intensified in the run-up to and during the Independence Day programmes.
The administration expressed confidence that the celebrations would pass off peacefully, urging citizens to cooperate with security personnel and report any suspicious activity.
