KAILASHAHAR: Students affiliated with the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) staged a protest at Ramakrishna Mahavidyalaya on Tuesday, alleging that the college has been plagued by a host of unresolved problems for a long time.
The protesters alleged inadequate drinking water facilities and the absence of separate common rooms for male and female students. They also claimed that College Week has not been held for the past two years and that the college’s NSS unit remains defunct.
Additional grievances raised included an unclean campus, unrestricted entry of outsiders, a shortage of equipment in the science department, the poor condition of the student union room, and the absence of a security guard at the main gate.
Among those present were Unakoti district ABVP convener Ankan Pal, sub-divisional convener Sneha Sutradhar, and college secretary Akash Debnath, along with other students.
Speaking to reporters, Pal demanded that authorities act swiftly to ensure a safe, clean, and education-friendly environment at the college, warning that ABVP would intensify its agitation if the issues were not addressed soon.
