AGARTALA: Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha left for New Delhi on Sunday to attend a high-level meeting between the BJP and its coalition partner TIPRA Motha, aimed at resolving recent strains within the ruling alliance ahead of the upcoming Village Committee elections under the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC).
Union Home Minister Amit Shah, along with BJP general secretary (organisation) BL Santosh and party spokesperson Sambit Patra, is expected to attend the talks. TIPRA Motha will be represented by founder Pradyot Kishore Manikya Debbarma, MLA Ranjit Debbarma, and Minister of State Brishaketu Debbarma.
The discussions are expected to focus on implementation of the long-pending tripartite agreement signed between the Centre, the Tripura government, and TIPRA Motha, along with possible changes in the state cabinet and organisational matters raised by the tribal party.
With the Village Committee elections approaching and the 2028 Tripura Assembly polls also in view, the meeting is being seen as a crucial step toward restoring coordination between the coalition partners and finalizing a joint electoral strategy in tribal-dominated constituencies.
