AGARTALA: The Tripura Gramin Bank Officers’ Federation and the Tripura Gramin Bank Employees’ Federation on Tuesday raised a five-point charter of demands at a joint press conference held at the bank’s central office here, seeking clearance of pending benefits, recruitment against vacant posts, and revision of the transfer policy.
The federations, led by chairperson Biplab Saha, demanded immediate implementation of all pending financial and non-financial benefits under the Ninth Joint Note and Twelfth Bipartite Settlement, along with allowances and welfare facilities on par with the sponsor bank. They also called for an end to staff deputation from the sponsor bank, while pressing for the bank’s independent identity to be preserved.
Other demands included immediate recruitment against vacant office assistant posts and revision of the current transfer policy to ensure transparency, fairness and a humane approach, in line with Department of Financial Services guidelines.
The two federations also announced their first joint conference, to be held at Hotel Sonartori in Agartala on August 8 and 9, and invited all bank staff to participate in the open session on August 8.
Leaders expressed hope the bank authorities would respond positively and resolve the issues through constructive dialogue.
