KHOWAI: Three primary-section students of Khowai Government Class XII School were injured after being stung by hornets on the school premises, triggering concern among parents and students alike.
The injured students were given first aid, according to reports from the school. Parents alleged that they had alerted school authorities to a hornet’s nest in the building nearly a month before the incident, but said the lack of timely action led to the mishap. They questioned why the risk was not addressed despite the advance warning.
School authorities did not deny the allegation, stating they had been making efforts to remove the nest but were unable to do so immediately, citing safety concerns and lack of cooperation from the concerned department.
The incident has renewed concerns over student safety on campus. Parents have demanded immediate removal of the hornet’s nest and comprehensive safety measures across the school premises to prevent similar accidents in the future.
