New C-Arm Machine, Modernised Facilities Mark Key Inspection at Gomati District Hospital

GOMATI: An important inspection programme was held at Gomati District Hospital on Friday, aimed at strengthening health services and infrastructure at the facility.

The delegation, led by local MLA Abhishek Debbarma, included Gomati District Magistrate Rinku Lather, District Chief Medical Officer Dr. Kamal Riang, and District Hospital Medical Superintendent Dr. Kajal Das, along with other doctors and officials. The team toured key departments including the Trauma Care Centre, the newly built CCU ward, CT Scan and Radiology, the IPHS lab, the medicine distribution centre and patient ticket counters.

Officials said the hospital’s CCU, evening OPD counter and newly installed C-Arm machine mark a major upgrade in medical services, enabling complex operations — such as those for accident-related fractures — to be performed locally. This is expected to reduce patient referrals to Agartala by nearly 40 percent.

MLA Debbarma said the government is working tirelessly to develop the hospital into a modern healthcare centre, seeking cooperation from all stakeholders to make services more accessible and higher in quality.

The inspection is being seen as a significant step toward modernising district-level healthcare delivery.
