BELONIA: A voluntary blood donation camp was organised at the Natmandir of Belonia Jogmaya Kalibari on Friday, jointly hosted by Jogmaya Kalibari and Lions Club Belonia Green, to mark the Kalibari’s 103rd Durgotsav and the Lions Club’s foundation anniversary.
The camp, held from around 10 am, was formally inaugurated by South District District Magistrate Mohammad Sajad P. Speaking to the media, Jogmaya Kalibari Committee president Dr. Jagadish Namah said the organisation’s core mission is to stand by the people, noting that beyond blood donation drives, it also runs health camps, eye camps, and provides mobility aids for the elderly.
People from various walks of life gathered through the morning to donate blood voluntarily, encouraging others to join in. Among those present were Kalibari secretary Paritosh Bhattacharya, Lions Club Green secretary Joyjeet Som, former MLA Dilip Chowdhury, and social worker Gautam Sarkar, along with office-bearers of both organisations.
Organisers said they expected around 50 voluntary donors to participate, describing the initiative as a shining example of community service under the message “Give Blood, Save Life.”
