AGARTALA: A woman working as casual staff at IGM Hospital has been arrested on charges of stealing a gold neck chain from a patient, police said.
Agartala West police station recovered the stolen chain and apprehended the accused following the complaint, bringing an end to the case.
Briefing the media on the matter, West police station OC Sanjit Sen shared details of the arrest and recovery, though specifics of the theft — including when it occurred and the identity of the victim — were not disclosed at the briefing.
The incident has raised concerns over security and vetting of casual staff employed at the state-run hospital, one of Tripura’s largest healthcare facilities.
Police said further investigation into the matter is underway.
