AGARTALA: Sanatani Hindu Sena will mark its second Foundation Day on Sunday, August 2, with a series of programmes planned to commemorate the occasion. Details of the celebrations were announced at a press conference held at Agartala Press Club.
The organisation, known for its Hindutva-aligned activities in the state, held its first Foundation Day on August 2 last year, an event that drew a call for unity and cultural preservation. At that event, Agartala Mayor Dipak Majumder praised members of the organisation as guardians of tradition working to safeguard Hindu heritage in contemporary society.
Over the past year, Sanatani Hindu Sena has been active on issues concerning the Hindu community, including staging a protest outside the Bangladesh Assistant High Commission office in Agartala condemning the alleged lynching of a Hindu man in Bangladesh, under the leadership of district president Gautam Laskar.
