DYFI Holds Youth March in Ramnagar After Eight Years

AGARTALA:The DYFI Ramnagar Local Committee organised a youth march in the area on Wednesday, July 29, marking the first such march in the locality in eight years. The march began at Ker Chowmuhani, wound through various parts of Ramnagar, and concluded back at the starting point.

The march was organised around demands including action against the deterioration of law and order in the state, and steps to protect youth from substance addiction. Participants also raised concerns over the condition of roads, issues linked to the Smart City project, and unemployment and education-related challenges in the state.

The march was led by Area Secretary Nilottam Majumder and President Suman Dev. Also present were divisional secretary Jaydeep Rauth, President Prasenjit Dev, and youth leaders Shibu Sutradhar, Jaydeep Kar and Dilwar Hossain. Senior figures associated with the state’s mass movements, including Subhashish Ganguly, Gautam Chakraborty and Gour Kumar Bhattacharya, joined the march towards its later stages.

Organisers said the march saw notable participation from youth in the area, with the procession passing through several parts of Ramnagar before concluding at Ker Chowmuhani.
