KANCHANMALA: Residents of Ward No. 2 under Kanchanmala Gram Panchayat have voiced sharp anger over the continued neglect of the road connecting Nakul Choumuna to Srinagar Rishi Colony, alleging that the vital stretch has gone without repair for nearly 35 years.
According to locals, the road serves as a crucial link for people travelling between Nakul Choumuna, Sheikher Kote, Kanchanmala, and Agartala. With several stretches badly damaged, pedestrians and vehicle drivers face daily hardship while using the route.
Residents alleged that the matter has been raised repeatedly with the local Gram Panchayat and public representatives, yet no effective action has followed. They claimed that representatives have visited the area on multiple occasions and assured them of prompt repairs, but no tangible progress has been made on the ground.
The prolonged disrepair has left residents frustrated, with many stating that the recurring assurances have failed to translate into actual work, deepening their sense of neglect.
Locals now await a clear answer on when restoration work will finally begin on the road, which remains critical for daily commute and connectivity to Agartala and neighbouring areas.
