Governor to Attend 27th Kargil Vijay Diwas at Albert Ekka War Memorial

State-level tribute to armed forces scheduled at Lichubagan

Agartala: Governor Indra Sena Reddy Nallu is scheduled to attend the 27th Kargil Vijay Diwas commemoration at the Albert Ekka War Memorial in Lichubagan on Sunday, July 26, at 9:00 AM.

The programme marks the anniversary of India’s victory in the 1999 Kargil War, observed annually to honour the sacrifice and valour of the armed forces personnel who fought to reclaim strategic Himalayan heights from infiltrators in the Kargil sector of Jammu and Kashmir.

The Governor’s presence at the memorial, which is dedicated to Param Vir Chakra awardee Albert Ekka, underscores the state’s tribute to soldiers who laid down their lives in the conflict. Such observances typically include wreath-laying ceremonies, military honours, and addresses recalling the sacrifices of the armed forces.

Kargil Vijay Diwas is commemorated nationwide every year on July 26, with state governments, defence establishments and civil society organising programmes to pay homage to fallen soldiers and celebrate the operational success of Operation Vijay.
