Agartala: In a significant move toward strengthening rural veterinary care, a certificate distribution ceremony was held at Pragya Bhavan today for students who successfully completed a one-year training program in Minor Veterinary Services. The initiative was organized by the Koushik Seva Foundation in collaboration with the Animal Resource Development Department (ARDD).
The Minister for Animal Resource Development, Sudhangshu Das, graced the occasion as the chief guest and handed over certificates to 250 trained youths. Other key dignitaries included ARDD Secretary Deepa Nair, Director Dr. Niraj Kumar Chanchal, Koushik Foundation Director Dr. Yogiraj Dutta, and President Dr. G.K. Bamaniya.
Speaking at the event, Minister Das emphasized that these freshly trained individuals will play a vital role in grassroots veterinary care, actively assisting in primary livestock treatment and state-wide vaccination drives.
“Empowering our youth with veterinary skills not only creates self-employment opportunities but also addresses the shortage of primary care providers for our livestock,” the Minister noted.
Officials highlighted that this cohort will serve as a crucial bridge between rural farmers and veterinary hospitals, ensuring timely medical intervention and safeguarding the state’s agricultural economy.
