Binpara:In a major boost to the state’s livestock health, the Minister for Animal Resource Development, Sudhangshu Das, officially inaugurated the fifth phase of the state-wide Foot-and-Mouth Disease (FMD) vaccination campaign for cattle today.

The launch event was held in the Binpara Gram Panchayat area, drawing local farmers and officials. Key dignitaries, including Panchayat Samiti Vice-Chairman Jhuton Das and several high-ranking department representatives, attended the ceremony to show support for the crucial agricultural initiative.

Speaking at the inauguration, Minister Sudhangshu Das emphasized the government’s commitment to protecting rural livelihoods by safeguarding livestock. “FMD is a highly contagious viral disease that can devastate our dairy sector and cause severe economic distress to our farmers. This fifth phase aims for 100% vaccination coverage across the state,” the Minister stated.

Department officials urged all cattle owners to cooperate with visiting veterinary teams to ensure their livestock are immunized. The mass vaccination drive will be conducted in a phased manner across all districts, providing free vaccines and medical check-ups to prevent potential outbreaks and secure the state’s agricultural economy.
