Agartala: Employees of the Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) in Tripura once again demonstrated their commitment to social service by organising a blood donation camp at the Tripura Asset here.
The camp was held on the initiative of the ONGC Employees’ Union of Tripura, timed to coincide with the 72nd Foundation Day of the Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh (BMS). The event drew a host of dignitaries, including Speaker of the Tripura Legislative Assembly Rampada Jamatia, Mayor of Agartala Municipal Corporation Deepak Majumder, and Pradesh BJP President Abhishek Debbarma, alongside representatives of BMS and ONGC staff.
Organisers said the primary objective of the drive was twofold: to help address the state’s ongoing blood requirements and to spread awareness about the importance of voluntary blood donation among the general public.
During the programme, the visiting dignitaries inspected the donation venue and interacted with donors, commending their contribution to the cause. ONGC employees turned out in large numbers to donate blood, reflecting the organisation’s continuing tradition of community welfare initiatives in the region.
The camp was widely appreciated as a meaningful gesture of corporate social responsibility ahead of BMS’s foundation day celebrations.
