Health Secretary Kiran Gitte Inspects Newly Constructed ANM Institute Building at Durjoynagar

AGARTALA: In a major push to upgrade the state’s healthcare education infrastructure, Tripura Health Secretary Kiran Gitte, IAS, on Sunday inspected the newly constructed Auxiliary Nurse and Midwifery (ANM) Institute building complex located at Durjoynagar on Airport Road. Accompanied by the Director of Health Services and senior department officials, Gitte reviewed the overall readiness of the site ahead of its formal inauguration.

Following the inspection, the Health Secretary announced that the state-of-the-art facility will be fully operational within the next two months. Acting on the directives of Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha to consolidate nursing infrastructure, the government plans to shift the IGM Nursing Degree and Diploma College to this new, integrated campus.

“The demand for skilled healthcare professionals is rising rapidly, and we are heavily focusing on health education,” Gitte stated. He added that the spacious Durjoynagar complex will ultimately serve as a comprehensive nursing education hub, complete with advanced training amenities, hostels, and provisions for future structural expansion. Academic activities are expected to transition smoothly to the new site, greatly enhancing practical training resources for the state’s upcoming medical workforce.
