AGARTALA: State BJP chief spokesperson Nabyendu Bhattacharjee on [date] issued a sharp counter-response to Leader of the Opposition Jitendra Chowdhury, following a press conference held by the latter on various issues concerning the state.
Addressing the media, Bhattacharjee reportedly dismissed the Opposition leader’s allegations, accusing the CPI(M)-led opposition of resorting to political rhetoric without substantive grounds. He alleged that the opposition’s claims were aimed at misleading the public rather than reflecting ground realities in the state.
The BJP spokesperson reportedly defended the state government’s track record on governance and development, countering the criticisms raised by Chowdhury and asserting that the ruling dispensation continues to work in the interest of the people of Tripura.
The exchange marks the latest instance of political sparring between the ruling BJP and opposition CPI(M) in the state, with both sides frequently trading charges through press briefings in recent months.
