KUMARGHAT: The road in front of the Cooperative in Kumarghat town has gone under water following a rise in the water levels of the Deo River and the Manu River, which flow through the Kumarghat-Fatikroy region.
Continuous rainfall in the region over the past few days is believed to have contributed to the swelling of both rivers, leading to the waterlogged condition on the stretch. Local residents and commuters have reported difficulty navigating the affected road, raising concerns over disruption to daily movement and access to the Cooperative premises.
Authorities are yet to issue an official statement on the extent of the waterlogging or any relief and drainage measures being undertaken. Locals have urged the administration to take swift action to prevent further inconvenience, especially with the monsoon season still active and river levels expected to fluctuate.
