MELAGHAR: A 19-year-old speech- and hearing-impaired youth, identified as Hriday Das, has gone missing after allegedly leaving his home in anger following a dispute over ₹200. The incident occurred in the Khas Chowmuhani area under Melaghar police station.
According to family members, Hriday stormed out of the house after an argument linked to the money and has not returned since. His mother has been left inconsolable, breaking down in tears as search efforts to locate her son have so far proved unsuccessful.
Given that Hriday cannot speak or hear, his family has expressed deep concern over his safety, fearing he may be unable to communicate his whereabouts or seek help if in distress. Neighbours and relatives have joined the family in searching the surrounding areas, but no trace of the youth has been found yet.
It is not yet known whether a formal missing person complaint has been lodged with Melaghar police station. This report will be updated with further details, including police response and search developments, as they become available.
