Prabhat Pheri Continues in Suryamaninagar to Mark Dr. Syama Prasad Mookerjee’s Death Anniversary

Agartala, July 9: A Prabhat Pheri (morning procession) programme, launched on June 23 to commemorate the death anniversary of Dr. Syama Prasad Mookerjee, continued on Thursday in the 18 Suryamaninagar Assembly constituency, with the latest procession held in the Kathaltali area.

The programme, organised under the supervision of Tripura Assembly Deputy Speaker and local MLA Ramprasad Paul, is scheduled to run until July 10 across various parts of the constituency.

On Thursday morning, the procession began from Kathaltali with the participation of four to five hundred people, moving through several roads in the locality before concluding at the Community Hall. A public meeting followed at the Community Hall premises, where Paul spoke about the life, ideals, and nation-building contributions of Dr. Mookerjee. A quiz competition on Mookerjee’s life and work was also organised for those present, with winners awarded cash prizes of ₹500 each.

Addressing the gathering, Paul described Dr. Mookerjee as an idealistic, courageous, and patriotic leader who faced political conspiracies during his time. He said the vision of “one nation, one flag” put forward by Dr. Mookerjee is today moving towards realisation under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Organisers said the Prabhat Pheri programme, which began on June 23, will continue across various parts of the Suryamaninagar Assembly constituency until July 10.
