AGARTALA: GRP (Government Railway Police) detained a youth from Bihar with cough syrup bottles worth Rs 2 lakh, police said.
According to police sources, the accused was intercepted by GRP personnel, who recovered a substantial quantity of cough syrup, believed to be intended for illegal sale or use as an intoxicant substitute, from his possession. The estimated market value of the seized consignment stands at Rs 2 lakh.
Further investigation is underway to determine the source of the syrup, its intended destination, and whether the accused was part of a larger trafficking network operating through the railway route into Tripura.
