Agartala: Union Minister for Women and Child Development, Smt. Annpurna Devi, on Sunday held a review meeting with officials of the Social Welfare and Social Education Department, Government of Tripura, at the State Guest House (Sonar Tari) in Agartala.
The meeting, held at 3 PM, was attended in the presence of Tripura’s Minister for Social Welfare and Social Education, Shri Tinku Roy, along with senior officials of the department.
During the review meeting, the Union Minister is understood to have assessed the implementation status of various women and child welfare schemes being run in the state, along with departmental performance and ongoing initiatives.
Following the conclusion of the review meeting, Smt. Annpurna Devi addressed the media at a press meet, where she is expected to have spoken on the outcomes of the discussion and the Centre’s continued engagement with the state on women and child development matters.
The meeting forms part of the Union Minister’s broader visit to Agartala, during which she also inspected several women and child welfare facilities in the city earlier in the day.
