Sepahijala: The Sepahijala unit of the Pradesh Kisan Congress on Tuesday submitted a deputation to the District Magistrate of Sepahijala, raising a six-point charter of demands related to the welfare of farmers in the district.
The delegation was led by Congress state committee leader Subhash Chowdhury, along with senior party leader Gupinath Saha and other office-bearers of the Kisan Congress.
According to sources, the six-point demand charter pertained to issues concerning the agricultural sector, though specific details of each demand could not be immediately ascertained.
Speaking on the occasion, Kisan Congress leaders reiterated their commitment to raising the concerns of farmers in the district and urged the district administration to take prompt action on the demands submitted.
The leaders alleged that the state government had failed to adequately address the issues faced by the farming community, and warned that the party would continue to press for the implementation of their demands through further democratic means if no action was taken.
