AGARTALA: The BJP on Sunday announced the formation of a new full-fledged committee for the Sadar Town District, with an introductory ceremony for the committee members held at the party’s Pradesh office here.
District President Asim Bhattacharya, addressing the gathering, said the newly constituted committee would soon chart out its strategy and roadmap for the upcoming Agartala Municipal Corporation elections, with detailed discussions on the same expected in the coming days.
The reshuffling of the district committee is being seen as part of the party’s broader organisational preparedness ahead of the civic polls, aimed at strengthening grassroots coordination and election readiness across the Sadar Town area.
Party sources said the newly inducted members would be assigned specific responsibilities in due course, as the BJP looks to consolidate its position in the urban local body polls.
Senior party leaders and workers were present at the event to welcome the new committee members.
