AGARTALA: The Tripura government on Thursday did not agree to a settlement during a hearing before a special Lok Adalat of the Supreme Court, in a case concerning the regularisation of teachers’ services from the first day of their appointment.
The case relates to a long-pending demand by a section of teachers seeking that their service tenure be counted from the date they originally joined duty, rather than from a later date of formal regularisation — a distinction that significantly affects their seniority, pay scale, and pension benefits.
