BISHRAMGANJ: Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha on Thursday laid the foundation stone for the new Sepahijala District Hospital, at a ceremony held around noon at Nonjala area in Bamboo Tilli ADC Village, located just behind the Bishramganj District Magistrate’s and SP’s offices, adjacent to the Sepahijala District Court.
The proposed hospital, to be constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 43 crore, will be a 100-bed facility spread across 35 kani of land, aimed at significantly strengthening healthcare infrastructure in the district.
The Chief Minister was accompanied at the event by the District Magistrate and Kiran Gitte, Secretary of the Health and Family Welfare and Public Works departments.
The hospital is expected to ease the burden on existing healthcare facilities in the district once operational, providing residents with better access to specialised and emergency medical services closer to home.
Further details regarding the expected completion timeline and the specific departments and services to be housed at the new facility are awaited from the administration.
