DHARMANAGAR: Dharmanagar MLA Jahar Chakraborty on Thursday visited Biswajit Dhar, a resident of Dharmanagar, at GB Hospital here to inquire about his health condition, ahead of the patient being shifted outside the state for advanced treatment.
According to information available, Dhar has been suffering from a complex bone-marrow related ailment for a considerable period of time. Officials said the state government has stepped in to facilitate his treatment, and he is being moved to a hospital outside Tripura today to receive specialised medical care unavailable within the state.
During his visit, MLA Chakraborty reportedly enquired about the patient’s condition and assured the family of continued support from the state administration in ensuring he receives proper treatment. The visit comes amid the government’s broader efforts to extend medical assistance to patients requiring specialised care beyond the state’s healthcare infrastructure.
Family members of the patient expressed gratitude for the support extended by the local MLA and the state government in arranging the treatment.
Further details regarding the hospital where Dhar will be treated, and the scheme under which his treatment is being facilitated, are awaited.
