BODHJUNGNAGAR: A man was left bleeding after allegedly being attacked with a dao (machete) by his father-in-law at his in-laws’ residence in the Daphidar area under Bodhjungnagar police station on Monday.
The injured man, identified as Rana Debbarma, alleged that his father-in-law, Uttam Debbarma, struck him with the weapon following a dispute at the house, where he had reportedly been staying for the past few months. He further alleged that he was thrown out of the house in a bloodied state by his father-in-law and other family members immediately after the attack.
Local residents spotted Debbarma injured on the road and brought him to Bodhjungnagar police station, where he recounted the incident to the media, detailing the alleged assault.
Police are yet to confirm whether a formal complaint has been filed or whether any arrests have been made in connection with the incident. Attempts to reach the family for their version of events were unsuccessful at the time of filing this report.
