Agartala: A seminar on veterinary vaccines against three major livestock diseases — Infectious Bovine Rhinotracheitis (IBR), Theileriosis, and Cysticercosis — was organised today at Hall No. 3, Pragya Bhawan, under the initiative of the Animal Resource Development Department.
Deepa D. Nayar, Secretary of the Animal Resource Development Department, attended the programme as chief guest. Several senior officials of the department, along with veterinary experts, were also present on the occasion.
During the seminar, speakers held detailed discussions on the importance of livestock health protection, effective disease prevention strategies, and the role of modern vaccination systems in safeguarding animal resources across the state. Experts emphasised that timely vaccination against diseases such as IBR, Theileriosis, and Cysticercosis is crucial for reducing mortality and improving productivity among cattle and other livestock.
The Secretary, in her address, underlined the department’s commitment to strengthening veterinary healthcare infrastructure and ensuring that updated vaccination protocols reach farmers and livestock owners across Tripura.
The seminar is expected to help veterinary officials and field workers better implement disease control measures, ultimately benefiting the state’s livestock sector and the farmers dependent on animal husbandry for their livelihood.
