Agartala:Mayor Dipak Majumdar carried out an on-site inspection of the Border Gol Chakra Bypass Road, reviewing the current status of ongoing construction work and assuring residents that the project would be completed soon.
During the visit, the Mayor was accompanied by civic officials and engineers overseeing the project, who briefed him on the progress made so far and the challenges encountered along the way. Walking through key stretches of the bypass, Majumdar inspected the quality of work and took stock of pending sections that still require attention before the road can be opened for full public use.
Speaking to reporters during the inspection, the Mayor reiterated his commitment to ensuring the timely completion of the project, stating that the civic body was working on a priority basis to wrap up the remaining work without further delay. He acknowledged that residents in the surrounding areas had faced inconvenience due to the prolonged construction period but assured them that the end was now in sight.
The bypass road, once completed, is expected to ease traffic congestion in the border area and provide a smoother, faster route for commuters, reducing pressure on the city’s existing road network. Local residents, who have long awaited the completion of the project, welcomed the Mayor’s visit and his assurance, though many said they would reserve judgment until the work was actually finished.
Civic officials said they would continue monitoring the site closely in the coming weeks to meet the revised completion deadline.
