Agartala:Tripura Gramin Bank on Wednesday distributed e-rickshaws to 13 beneficiaries through a small ceremony organised to support self-employment among the local populace.
The event was attended by the Chairman of Tripura Gramin Bank, along with other senior officials of the bank.
Speaking on the occasion, the Chairman said the initiative was part of the bank’s continued efforts to promote financial inclusion and self-reliance among economically weaker sections of society. He noted that providing access to credit for purchasing vehicles such as e-rickshaws would enable beneficiaries to earn a sustainable livelihood while also contributing to eco-friendly transportation in the region.
The beneficiaries, who received the e-rickshaws under the bank’s loan assistance scheme, expressed gratitude to the bank for extending financial support that would help them start their own ventures and improve their economic condition.
Bank officials further stated that such initiatives align with the broader goal of empowering grassroots entrepreneurs and reducing dependency on traditional employment avenues. They added that Tripura Gramin Bank would continue to organise similar programmes in the future to extend financial assistance to more eligible individuals across the state.
The ceremony concluded with words of encouragement from the bank’s leadership, urging the beneficiaries to make optimal use of the support extended to them.
