Important Meeting Held on SC Welfare at Agartala’s Sonar Tori Guest House

Agartala: An important meeting was held on Tuesday at the Sonar Tori state guest house here with the Chairman of the Scheduled Caste Welfare Sub-Committee, focusing on measures to enhance welfare initiatives for the Scheduled Caste community in the state.

The meeting was attended by Scheduled Caste Welfare Department Minister Sudhanshu Das and the department’s Secretary, Deepa D. Nair, among other officials.

During the course of discussions, detailed deliberations were held on what additional forms of assistance could be extended to the Scheduled Caste (SC) community to further their welfare. Alongside welfare measures, the meeting also touched upon broader plans and future programmes designed to ensure the overall social and economic upliftment of the SC community in the state. Officials reportedly exchanged views on strategies to make existing schemes more effective and accessible, while also discussing the scope for introducing new initiatives in the coming period.

Sources present at the meeting indicated that the discussions were constructive, with both the Minister and the Sub-Committee Chairman expressing commitment towards strengthening welfare delivery mechanisms for the community. The Secretary of the department also provided inputs on the administrative and implementation aspects of the proposed measures.
