DHARMANAGAR: Residents of Dharmanagar in North Tripura are facing severe hardship after server services at the Electricity Department’s Division-One and Division-Two offices remained down for nearly a week, disrupting prepaid meter recharge facilities.
Men, women, the elderly and children from far-flung areas have been seen standing in long queues for hours, hoping to recharge their prepaid meters, only to return empty-handed due to the persistent server outage.
When contacted, the manager of Division-Two said the server issue could take another four to five days to be fully resolved.
Amid intense summer heat, the prolonged disruption has left residents unable to deposit recharge amounts despite repeated visits over the past two to three days, with many expressing frustration over the impact on their daily lives.
At the office premises, several women customers were seen waiting for extended periods, some passing the time playing ludo, reflecting the scale of public inconvenience caused by the technical failure.
It remains to be seen when the server issue will be resolved and normal services restored.
