AGARTALA: The Tripura Pradesh Youth Congress submitted a deputation to the state Health Department, protesting the alleged inhumane treatment meted out to a patient at Agartala Government (GB) Hospital.
According to the complaint, a patient from Dharmanagar had visited GB Hospital a few days ago for treatment, during which he was allegedly subjected to mistreatment and neglect by hospital staff. The incident reportedly sparked outrage among local Congress workers, prompting the deputation to the health department.
In the deputation, Youth Congress leaders are said to have demanded strict action against those responsible for the alleged misconduct and called for measures to ensure patients are treated with dignity and care at government healthcare facilities.
The organisation reportedly urged the department to look into the matter seriously and take corrective steps to prevent recurrence of such incidents.
Health department officials are yet to issue an official response to the allegations raised in the deputation.
