Agartala: The sub-divisional administration carried out a sudden raid in Gakulnagar Muslim Para following allegations of illegal sale of government khas (unallotted) land in the area, sparking a stir among local residents.
Deputy Collector and Magistrate (DCM) Prasenjit Das, who led the operation, briefed the media on the details of the raid and the allegations that prompted it. According to preliminary information, complaints had been received regarding unauthorised transactions involving government-owned land in the locality, leading the administration to intervene.
The raid has drawn considerable attention in the area, with residents gathering to witness the proceedings as officials examined records and land documents on the spot.
Authorities are expected to investigate the extent of the alleged land sales and identify those involved, both sellers and buyers, in the coming days. Action against violators, if the allegations are confirmed, may follow under relevant land laws.
