KAMALPUR: A rubber plantation in Salema, under Kamalpur subdivision, was allegedly vandalised by a group of miscreants, damaging several rubber trees and leaving local residents in a state of panic and unease.
According to locals, the attackers targeted the plantation, reportedly uprooting or cutting down a number of rubber trees, causing significant financial loss to the owner(s). News of the incident spread quickly through the area, triggering widespread concern among residents, many of whom depend on rubber cultivation for their livelihood.
The motive behind the alleged attack remains unclear, and no arrests have been reported so far. Local sources said the incident has raised fresh concerns over security in the plantation belt of the subdivision.
Police have yet to issue an official statement on the matter, and the identity of those responsible remains unknown at this stage.
Residents have urged authorities to investigate the incident promptly and ensure such attacks are not repeated in the area.
