Manik Saha Releases PM-KISAN Funds as Modi Joins West Bengal Day

A.D. NAGAR: A programme was organised today at the State Agricultural Research Centre, A.D. Nagar, to mark the release of the 23rd instalment of PM-KISAN for the period April 2026 to July 2026.

Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha, along with Minister Ratan Lal Nath and other dignitaries, attended the event, which saw the disbursement of financial assistance under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme aimed at supporting farmers across the state. The Chief Minister and other leaders highlighted the scheme’s role in providing direct income support to farmers, helping ease their financial burden and boost agricultural productivity.

On the same day, West Bengal Day celebrations were held at Tarakeswar in Hooghly district, attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari, and other senior leaders and dignitaries. The proceedings of the West Bengal Day event were telecast live online, allowing people across the country, including in Tripura, to follow the celebrations remotely.

The dual observance — the PM-KISAN instalment release in Tripura and West Bengal Day celebrations in Hooghly — underscored the coordinated reach of central government initiatives and state-level commemorations on the same day across different parts of the country.
