Agartala: Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha on Thursday paid floral tributes to Maharaja Bir Bikram Kishore Manikya Bahadur on his birth anniversary, at a ceremony held at Zero Point here.
The programme began with the Chief Minister offering a wreath at the Maharaja’s statue. Speaking to reporters after the ceremony, Dr. Saha reflected on the Maharaja’s ideals and his contributions to the erstwhile princely state of Tripura, recalling the reforms and initiatives undertaken during his reign.
Maharaja Bir Bikram Kishore Manikya Bahadur is widely remembered for his role in modernising Tripura, including efforts in education, infrastructure and administration, and remains a revered figure in the state’s history.
Among those present at the event were Agartala Municipal Corporation Mayor Deepak Majumder, Ward No. 20 Corporator Ratna Dutta, and other dignitaries.
