Blood Donation Camp Marks Independence Day, Sukanta’s Birth Centenary

Agartala: A blood donation camp was organised at Mela Math Chhatra Yuva Bhavan in Ramnagar, marking both the nation’s 80th Independence Day and the birth centenary of young poet Sukanta Bhattacharya.

The camp was held through the joint initiative of students and youth affiliated with the Ramnagar Area Committee, reflecting the spirit of service and social responsibility associated with the occasion.

Former Chief Minister Manik Sarkar and Leader of the Opposition Jitendra Chowdhury attended the event, along with other dignitaries and local leaders, lending their support to the initiative.

The dual observance paid tribute to the nation’s freedom struggle while also honouring the legacy of Sukanta Bhattacharya, whose revolutionary poetry continues to inspire generations. Numerous donors from the student and youth community participated, contributing to the camp’s cause.

The event underscored the continued engagement of Tripura’s youth in community service, blending historical commemoration with a practical humanitarian initiative.
