AGARTALA: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will begin its district-level training programme from tomorrow as part of the Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Prashikshan Maha Abhiyan, an important organisational exercise for the party, it was announced at a press conference held at Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Auditorium, Kushabhau Bhavan, the party’s state headquarters.
Addressing the press, party functionaries — Minister Tinku Roy, Chief Spokesperson Subrata Chakraborty, Spokesperson Nabendu Bhattacharya and Media In-charge Sunit Sarkar — said district training would run in three phases: Gomati, Pilak (South District) and South Sepahijala from August 5-7; Sadar urban and rural, and North Sepahijala from August 8-10; and Khowai, Dhalai, Unakoti and North Tripura from August 11-13.
Unlike the two-day, one-night Mandal-level training that covered eight subjects, the district-level sessions will extend over three days and two nights, covering twelve subjects, including party history, ideology, organisational strategy, media and booth management, and the state government’s welfare schemes.
Central leaders Guru Prakash Paswan, Rajkumar Sharma and Hemant Goswami are expected to attend. Officials said training has already been completed in 55 mandals, with the rest to be concluded shortly.
