AGARTALA: BJP Tripura state president and MLA Abhishek Debroy carried out a series of organisational programmes across the 32-Matabari Assembly constituency on Tuesday, aimed at strengthening the party and expanding grassroots outreach.
The day began with a joining ceremony at Dataram Bazar, where 67 voters from 16 families, previously associated with other political parties, joined the BJP. Debroy formally welcomed the newcomers by handing them party flags, and spoke on the party’s ideology and the state government’s development initiatives, urging workers to unite in strengthening the organisation.
He later inaugurated a newly constructed BJP office at Joali Khamar, cutting the ribbon amid a large turnout of local workers and supporters. In the evening, he inaugurated a second new party office at Simsima, expressing hope that it would energise organisational activities in the area.
Among those present through the day’s programmes were state general secretary Rathindra Jamatia, Gomati district vice-president Uttam Dey, Mandal president Biswajit Marak, and Panchayat Samiti chairperson Shilpi Das, along with a large turnout of party workers.
Party sources said similar organisational and outreach programmes would continue in the coming days as part of the BJP’s grassroots expansion drive.
