Torch procession pays tribute to soldiers, spreads message of patriotism
Dharmanagar: The Dharmanagar Town Unit of the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) organised a tribute ceremony and torch (mashal) rally in Dharmanagar, North Tripura, on Sunday to commemorate Kargil Vijay Diwas, honouring the bravery and sacrifice of soldiers who fought in the 1999 Kargil War.
The programme saw enthusiastic participation from ABVP members and aimed to promote patriotism and national unity while expressing gratitude to the Indian Armed Forces. The event opened with a solemn tribute to soldiers who laid down their lives during the conflict, with speakers highlighting that the Army’s courage and sacrifice would continue to inspire future generations.
Following the tribute, participants carried flaming torches through the major streets of Dharmanagar, raising patriotic slogans and paying homage to the fallen heroes.
Among those present was Aniket Deb, Convenor of the ABVP Dharmanagar Organisational District, along with several office-bearers, workers and members of the organisation.
Concluding the programme, ABVP said Kargil Vijay Diwas was not merely a remembrance of a historic military victory but a day to honour the courage and unwavering patriotism of soldiers who dedicated their lives to the nation, whose legacy would continue to inspire generations to come.
